A team of researchers at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine determined that transgenic overexpression of peroxiredoxin-2 attenuates ischemic neuronal injury via suppression of a redox-sensitive pro-death signaling pathway. In order to do this, the team utilized Redoxica's 2-Cys-Peroxiredoxin Activity Assay Kit (Product Code: PR-5011K) to determine peroxidase activity. Subsequently, they performed a Thioredoxin Activity Assay (Product Code: TR-7011K) which was utilized to determine Trx activity by measuring insulin disulfide reduxing.
